We will be finishing our basket by completing the rim this week. Materials needed are:
5/8 inch Flat Oval approx 8 ft
#6 Round Reed approx 3 feet for rim filler
#6 Round Reed under the rim approx 3 to 4 ft
11/64 inch or 3/16 inch Flat Oval approx 21 to 24 feet

Bob is known for his use of color in his baskets. He dyes his own reed. Learn his techniques during this video demonstration.

Floating Bead Ribbon Handle Basket With Porcelain Beads
Instructor: Vickie Echols
Class Level: Any level can do this.
Cost: $70.00
Class Limit: 15
Description: This is a sweet basket that is worked in one continuous coil. The pine needles are coiled around the gourd and we will learn a variety of stitches including how to work beads into your coiling. We will be making a double handle and learning how to give it extra support.
Tools to bring with you: Needle nose pliers, fine tipped wire cutters and sharp scissors.
Materials provided with the class: The prepared gourd, glycerinated pine needles, porcelain beads, 18 gauge wire, waxed linen, sewing needle and detailed instructions (emailed after the class).
Length of the class: 9:00 – 4:00
